Cancer Exercise Trainer Workshop by Dr. Kathryn Schmitz directly from the US

ACSM/ACS Cancer Exercise Trainer (CET) is a fitness professional who utilizes a well-rounded understanding of cancer to develop exercise programs specifically suited for cancer survivors, which empowers them to display their significant inner strength by improving their own physical fitness.

Course Objective:

  •      Design exercise programs for cancer patients
  •      Understanding of different treatments and recovery status
  •   Help clients realize their health goals
  •   Provide survivors with hope through personalized exercise

Kathryn Schmitz, PhD, MPH, FACSM, is a professor at the Penn State University’s College of Medicine and Associate Director of Population Sciences.

She is an exercise interventionist who has led multiple trials. Also served on the expert panel for the YMCA/Lance Armstrong Foundation Cancer Survivorship Collaborative, wrote the cancer survivorship section of the recently published U.S. DHHS report of the Physical Activity Guidelines Advisory Committee.
